Why time math trips people up
Time is base 60, not base 10. 2:45 plus 1:30 is 4:15, not 3:75, and 2 h 45 min is 2.75 decimal hours, not 2.45. This calculator carries minutes and seconds properly and shows the decimal form alongside, which is the one payroll systems and spreadsheets multiply by.
Minutes to decimal cheat sheet
15 min = 0.25 h, 20 min = 0.33 h, 30 min = 0.5 h, 45 min = 0.75 h. In general divide minutes by 60. Going the other way, multiply the decimal part by 60: 3.4 hours is 3 h 24 min.
