Fuel Cost Calculator
What the trip costs in fuel, from distance, economy and pump price.
MPG and L/100km point in opposite directions
Higher MPG is better; higher L/100km is worse. To convert: 235.2 รท MPG = L/100km, and the same formula works backwards. A 30 MPG car uses about 7.8 L/100km.
Your real-world economy is worse than the sticker
Official figures come from standardized tests. City traffic, cold starts, roof boxes, underinflated tires and highway speeds above 110 km/h (70 mph) all push consumption up, often by 15 to 25%. For trip budgeting, use what your car actually shows on the trip computer, and remember fuel is only part of the cost per km once you count tires, servicing and depreciation.
