How business days are counted
Business days are Monday through Friday. Counting between dates excludes the start date and includes the end date, the same convention as deadlines ('within 10 business days of receipt'). Adding business days steps over weekends: Friday + 1 business day is Monday.
Holidays are on you
Public holidays differ by country, state and even city, so this count treats every weekday as a working day. For contract or court deadlines, subtract the holidays that apply in the relevant jurisdiction; most have 8 to 12 per year, so a long span can shift by a week or more.
